Carolyn Tarpey is a Pacific Northwest based ceramic artist specializing in warm, contemporary tableware. Shaped by her upbringing in the Piedmont of North Carolina and early exposure to pottery, she is inspired by the legacy of functional stoneware in the South Eastern US. Mentored by Betsey Carter (2006-2013) at Cone10 Studio in Charleston, SC, Tarpey is currently an apprentice at Pottery Northwest, in Seattle, WA. Her work has been on display at local markets, Pottery Northwest, The Perennial Tearoom and Home Cakes. Tarpey enjoys collaborating on unique pieces for local businesses and her collectors.
